Frequently Asked Questions

  • HOW MANY DOGS DO YOU BOARD AT ONE TIME?
Typically, I board 4 – 6 dogs per day and no more than 5 dogs for overnight boarding. I limit the number of dogs I board so each dog gets love and affection. Commercial facilities board too many dogs to provide high quality personal care.
  • WHAT SHOTS ARE REQUIRED?
Rabies vaccination is required by law. In addition, vets recommend DHPP, Bordetella, Leptospirosis and Canine Influenza for dogs exposed to other dogs in social or boarding settings. Please bring a copy of the vet’s paperwork showing up-to-date vaccination status.
  • WHAT ABOUT FLEA TREATMENT?
Your dog must be on an effective, year-round flea prevention program for health and comfort as well as for mine and that of other boarders. Your vet can recommend an effective oral product.
  • WHAT WILL YOU DO IF MY DOG GETS INJURED OR SICK?
In an emergency, I’ll take your dog to the nearest vet and contact you immediately. If non-emergency care is needed, I’ll contact you to decide the best course of action.
  • WHAT SHOULD I BRING FROM HOME?
Dog food Feeding instructions - How much? How often? Dog bowl *Collar with ID tag and your contact information Harness 6’ leash Optional: Bed Toys – may get damaged or destroyed An unwashed article of clothing with your scent on it *I recommend having your dog’s ID tag on a collar so they’re always wearing it. I use harnesses on walks and remove them at home and in the yard to avoid the slight risk of getting entangled while playing with the other dogs.
  • WILL MY DOG BE CRATED?
No, this is a cage-free environment. However, you can bring a crate if your dog is crate-trained and must sleep in one.
  • ARE YOU ABLE TO GIVE MY DOG HIS MEDICATION?
I administer oral medication and topical treatments. I provide these services free ofw charge. Please make sure the medication is labeled and provide written dosing instructions.
